We will look at passages from the text in English and explore visceral responses to the play. Each participant should bring the text in his\/her own language. We will also include other poets who have been inspired by <em>The Tempest<\/em>: Auden, Crane, Browning\u2026etc\u2026..and consider the image of the sea.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>About KARIN COONROD <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-450\" title=\"karinCoonrod\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lamamaumbria.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/karinCoonrod-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>KARIN COONROD<\/strong> is a theater maker whose work has been seen and heard across the country and around the world. This year in New York she directed Love\u2019s Labor\u2019s Lost at the Public Theater, More Or Less I Am (drawn from Walt Whitman\u2019s \u201cSong of Myself\u201d) with Compagnia de\u2019 Colombari in different locations around New York City and Aphra Behn\u2019s The Rover at the World Financial Center. In Chicago she directed Romanian playwright Andras Visky\u2019s Juliet. She is Founding Director of acclaimed Arden Party Theater Company in downtown New York City 1987-1997 (during which time she won an Encore Award for her direction of Roger Vitrac\u2019s Victor Or Children Take Over) and its successor Compagnia de\u2019 Colombari, an international company which has performed the medieval mystery plays re-imagined for the 21st century, launching a new tradition of theater in Orvieto, Italy. Past credits include Henry VI (at The Public Theater); King John, Julius Caesar, Coriolanus (with Theater for A New Audience); Everything That Rises Must Converge (from Flannery O\u2019Connor\u2019s stories) at New York Theatre Workshop; Othello (at Hartford Stage); Enrico IV (at ART in Cambridge).
